About the Show

Come From Away is an award-winning Broadway musical written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. Based on remarkable true events, the show tells the story of a small Canadian town that welcomed thousands of stranded airline passengers following the September 11 terrorist attacks. When 38 planes are unexpectedly diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, the townspeople rally to respond with remarkable hospitality, forging friendships across cultures and continents.

Notable songs from the folk-inspired score include "Welcome to the Rock", "Me and the Sky", and "Stop the World". Come From Away opened on Broadway in 2017 and received widespread acclaim and numerous theatrical awards.
