Elf is a musical adaptation of the popular 2003 movie of the same name, with music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, and a book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan. Elf tells the story of Buddy, a human raised by elves at the North Pole. Buddy travels to New York determined to find his real family and help the city rediscover its Christmas spirit.
The upbeat score features sugary songs like “A Christmas Song,” “Sparklejollytwinklejingley,” and “There Is a Santa Claus.” The musical opened on Broadway in 2010 and was revived in 2024 and 2024. With relentless enthusiasm, warmth, and cheer, Elf remains a favorite family musical during the holidays.
